What Chunky Armadillo Has to Offer
Posted on July 18 2016
As one of the newest and most unique shops in the Short North, Chunky Armadillo has a smattering of creative clothing, gifts, and accessories to pick through. It's a little treasure trove of vintage trinkets, upcycled artwork, and funky clothing that screams free spirit.
Focused on the gypsy boho trend with a little southern flair thrown in, we're proud to feature some of the freshest styles and most unique designs in modern women's clothing. A lot of what we offer is flowy and free, which is the spirit and style we're about, including lace hippie tops, embroidered shaws, and loose vintage T-shirts with all sorts of sassy sayings. We also carry stone-washed jeans and other denim.
Jewelry & Accessories
Really the whole bohemian spirit and urban chic style is about heavily accessorizing and just wearing it all together in one outlandish statement. We've got you covered on that! The store is constantly rotating a wide variety of beaded jewelry, dangling earrings, vintage lockets, and one-of-a-kind Texas Trash upcycled necklaces with matchbox cars and bottle caps hanging from a silver chain. Top that off with tie-dye headbands and braided scarfs or a good old trucker hat to set the attitude of your outfit.
If you're looking for a remarkable gift for a friend that she won't find anywhere else, it's only Chunky Armadillo, baby! We regularly stock a mish-mash of outlandish trinkets and toys that make great gifts. From tiny animal desk ornaments to sassy coffee mugs and wine stoppers, we always have the stuff that should fill any urban girl's apartment. It can be an upcycled canvas handbag made from fifty year old feed mill bags or rusted metal letters that spell out all sorts of shenanigans on the wall. Let's not forget beer coasters and koozies, keychains, photo frames, and wall art. Get creative and show your friends that you've got an eye for funky gifts.
One of our more notable gifts to the Short North is a selection of handmade home decor and upcycled furniture. We've got a desk made from an old Ford truck, a coffee table that was once an airplane engine casing, and chandeliers made from weathered truck springs. If you like the look of vintage junk remade into something beautiful for your home, we've got you covered. Obviously that stuff isn't available for purchase online (can you imagine the shipping cost?) but if you stop into our store on High Street, anything you see is for sale!
